To load the firmware:
1.
Unzip the file linked above on to an SD card.
2.
Turn the MediaTube power switch to off.
3.
Insert the card and turn the power on.
There will be some messages on the screen and after it says Success you can power the MediaTube off and remove the card.
New Funtionality:
1) With the MediaTube powered on but NO CARD inserted, you can use the BLANK button that is 4th down on the left side to toggle through the video output (1080i, 720p, NTSC, PAL) If it is connected to the composite video output you just need to make sure the switch on the back of the unit is set to composite.
2) The power button will now toggle between 16x9 output and native resolution of the photo. Note that all of these functions are DISABLED in the slide show mode. If you want it to be 16x9 you need to do this in either the menu mode or the single photo display mode.
3) There is a NEW menu choice for Image Size. You select in the menu either Original or Optimal. Original displays the photos in their original format (black bars on the sides), optimal retains the aspect ratio but enlarges the image to fill the entire screen resulting in some cropping on the top and bottom.
4) The software now retains all of the user settings when the box is powered off.
